A Reference Implementation of ESRO in the form of free software in open-source format is being made available at http://www.MailMeAnywhere.org/.
We expect to have the ESRO protocol engine software components subject to the GNU General Public License available at this location by September 2000.
On the device side, software will be made available for most generic platforms, including PalmOS, EPOC, WindowsCE, Windows9X, and Windows-NT. On the server side, software will be available on Solaris, Linux and NT.
In addition to open-source format, the ESRO Reference Implementation will also be made available for the above mentioned platforms as a ready-to-use Toolkit.

The ``ESRO API Specification'' [15] defines the
ESRO Application Programming Interface (API). This specification maps
ESRO service primitives into C language function calls. This document
